I met Line at an event I was photographing. Her appearance stayed with me immediately—especially her skin, covered in freckles and moles. To me, they resemble a night sky: unique constellations stretching across her shoulders, back and the curves of her body.
Line told me that her skin had been almost clear when she was very young, and that more freckles and moles appeared throughout her childhood. I began to imagine each one as a small trace of light—a sunbeam, a memory, a moment from childhood or the past. As if her body carries its own map of lived time.
I wanted to create a series about femininity, tenderness and connection with one’s own body. Not the body as something displayed, but the experience of being present within it: touch, movement, pleasure in oneself and a quiet intimacy with one’s own skin.

We photographed in a very limited space, moving between just three windows. Yet the location soon stopped feeling like a limitation. We talked, listened to music and danced, gradually moving from portraiture towards a closer observation of the body.
For me, the series also holds the atmosphere of our encounter: warmth, trust and the freedom that developed between us. A space where femininity did not have to be performed for the camera, but could simply be lived.
